Why Choose Vintage Tongue & Groove Barnwood Siding?
| Authenticity | Vintage Barnwood Siding looks as authentic as old barnwood siding. Every piece displays unique textures, shades of color, and rustic character like true barnwood. |
| Quality | Vintage Barnwood Siding is modern made, unlike old barnwood. Made predominantly from new kiln dried eastern white pine. |
| Value | Vintage Barnwood Siding costs less than reclaimed barnwood. Produced on high-tech Italian made robotic finish lines that are over 200’ long, and cost $800,000 each. This investment allows us to provide a higher quality product at lower costs. We pass this savings along to you. |
| Ease of Install | Vintage Barnwood Siding installs in half the time of reclaimed Barnwood As a newly manufactured product, sizes and tolerances are tighter than reclaimed barnwood, making for easier installation. Our Vintage Shiplap Barnwood Siding comes in long lengths for less seams and quicker installation. |
| Safety | Vintage Barnwood Siding is free of potential toxins unlike old Barnwood. Water based finished with low VOC’s (volatile organic compounds), and no risk of lead content, animal waste, or sharp embedded metals make Vintage Shiplap Barnwood Siding the preferred choice over reclaimed barnwood. |

Tongue & Groove Installation
Tongue and groove siding can be installed horizontally or vertically. In horizontal application, start at the bottom and work up with the groove edges facing downwards. Vintage Barnwood must be face nailed using two nails per bearing. Nails must penetrate 1-1/4 inches into solid wood.
In vertical application, start at one corner with grooved edge toward the adjacent wall. Use a level or plumb line to ensure that the first board is installed plumb. The grooved edge of the first board may have to be trimmed to ensure a flush fit. Siding is nailed to horizontal blocking lines installed between studs or to furring strips. As with horizontal installation, Vintage Barnwood must be face nailed using two nails per bearing penetrating 1-1/4 into the solid wood.
